                  A seminar was presented on ‘Rain Water Harvesting’ in a one - 
                  day workshop in Gwalior on ‘Opportunities of Waste Heat 
                  Recovery in Industries & Rain Water Harvesting’, organised by 
                  MP Pollution Control Board. The participants were 
                  industrialists from Madhya Pradesh and various departments of 
                  the government.

                  A training programme was organised at TARAgram, Orchha from 
                  May 12-14, 2008 on ‘Participation and Gender’ under the IDRC 
                  project. There were 14 participants.

                  Machines: 
                  TARA-Balram Machine has received appreciation overseas and 
                  ordres have been received for the same from Aga Khan 
                  Foundation, Afganistan. TARA Machines conducted a machines 
                  demo workshop in TNK campus for ACC Cement Dealers from all 
                  over India on May 28, 2008. All the dealers were quite 
                  impressed with TARA technologies and have committed to promote 
                  the same alone with the cement and construction package.

                  Paper: 
                  Universities have placed orders for TARA Handmade Paper with 
                  water mark for degrees. Supplies have been sent to Bhopal 
                  Universitity and orders have also been recieved from Indore 
                  University. Demand for the same is steadily increasing.
 
 TARAhaat
 · 
                  The total number of signed TARAhaat centres is now 400.
 · 
                  The literacy programme, TARA Akshar will be starting a new 
                  phase of learners’ cycle under the SUZLON Project from August 
                  2008. In the meantime, the training of instructors is being 
                  carried out.

                  The CSB team visited the Bundelkhand region for community 
                  assessment for a climate change project – START (global change 
                  System for Analysis, Research and Training). The objective was 
                  to formulate a framework for risk communication in the region. 
                  The team visited Khargupur, Alpur, Amarpur and Ajnar villages.

                  DA has received the SACFA (Standing Advisory Committee on 
                  Radio Frequency Allocation) clearance and frequency allocation 
                  from the Ministry of Communications and IT. With this, DA 
                  moves closer to launch its Community Radio in Bundelkhand at 
                  FM 90.4 MHz, which will be located at TARAgram Orchha. A 
                  communication need assessment survey has been conducted in the 
                  functional region of the Community Radio to understand the 
                  interests of the communities about radio programmes.

                  The 3rd Sustainability Summit: Asia 2008 under the 
                  ‘Competitiveness Redefined’ will be held on December 11-12, 
                  2008 at InterContinental The Grand, New Delhi.
